Program Overview
The Saanvi Finance Academy 10-Week Program is a student-led financial literacy course designed for students in grades 5–10. Through interactive lessons, real-world examples, and hands-on activities, students develop essential money and investing skills that are rarely covered in traditional school curricula.
The program is taught by Saanvi Gullapalli, a student educator passionate about empowering young learners to build confidence with money at an early age.

10-Week Course Curriculum
Week 1 – Introduction to Stocks & the Stock Market
Students learn what stocks are, how the stock market functions, and the key differences between public and private companies. This week establishes a strong foundation for understanding investing concepts.
Week 2 – Stock Exchanges, Tickers & Market Indexes
An overview of major stock exchanges, ticker symbols, market capitalization, and widely followed indexes such as the S&P 500 and Dow Jones, helping students understand how markets and company size are measured.
Week 3 – Economic Sectors, Value vs. Growth & Key Metrics
Students explore major sectors of the S&P, compare value and growth companies, and are introduced to essential investing tools such as ETFs, price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio, and earnings per share (EPS).
Week 4 – Economic Concepts & Real-World News (WSJ Project)
Students learn core economic concepts—including inflation, tariffs, commodities, supply chains, and trade policy—and apply this knowledge through a Wall Street Journal project by reading articles and sharing insights.
Week 5 – Economic Trends & WSJ Project
A deeper exploration of economic trends and current events, continuing the Wall Street Journal project to strengthen critical thinking, discussion, and real-world market awareness.
Week 6 – Fundamental Analysis & Stock Tracking
Students are introduced to the basics of fundamental analysis and how investors evaluate companies. Each student selects a stock to track and analyze over time, applying concepts learned in class.
Week 7 – Investment Rules & U.S. Treasury Securities
An overview of smart investing principles, the three main types of U.S. Treasury securities, and how Treasury auctions work within the broader financial system.
Week 8 – How a Stock Account Works
A step-by-step introduction to brokerage accounts, including how to place buy and sell orders, understand different order types, and practice responsible investing.
Week 9 – Credit Ratings & Long-Term Investing Strategies
Students learn what credit ratings are, how they impact Treasury securities, and why long-term strategies such as dollar-cost averaging are important for building wealth over time.
Week 10 – Introduction to Cryptocurrency & Program Wrap-Up
A beginner-friendly introduction to cryptocurrency, followed by the conclusion of the stock market challenge and a comprehensive review of key lessons from the program.
